Brazilian Hardwood Flooring remains one of the most sought after product categories today. These species are renowned for their distinctive and individualistic design palettes as well as their amazing durability. High design and practicality don’t usually go together as an attractive package. All of our products are graded to Stewartfloor standards and inspected again independently from our manufacturing partners personnel by our own quality control manager. All of our products are finished with European finishes. Nearly all of our products are packaged in Stewartfloor boxes with foam between the layers.

It’s a wonderful feeling when clients take time out to compliment our floors. Mr. Gust of Bloomington, MN purchased our 3/4″ x 3″ Santos Mahogany Atelier finished flooring. Mr. Gust considered many flooring options during the remodeling process, he chose stewartfloor.

Atelier is our low gloss product offering. This accentuates the naturalness of these beautiful tropical woods and also shows less wear and tear than a higher gloss flooring options.

Future Flooring from South America, Plantation Wood

During my recent visit to Brazil I found many interesting opportunities. One of them was the plantation teak I had mentioned earlier in the summertime. The plantation is highly impressive and shows what can be done and how quickly these plantations mature. I also found some other very interesting species which had been planted some years ago in Brazil as a test and out of curiousity, such as Khaya Ivorensis or commonly referred to as “African Mahogany.”

The future is bright and we are on our way.

Industry standards allow for 5-7% waste in cuttings and defects. Measuring Rooms for Hardwood Flooring unless you have odd angled rooms or off grade material, this should provide enough material. If you want to have extra wood in case of damage or plank replacement it is a good idea to purchase an extra box so that you know the finishes match and the profile matches.

If you are buying first quality material which is well manufactured and graded, you simply do not need to order excessive volumes of material. The exception to this rule would be unless you are going to do a lot of further hand selection prior to installation.
