stewartfloor® Wood Floor Finishes

Surface finishes are the finish of choice in today’s wood flooring market.  This is largely due to the fact that they are durable, water-resistant and require minimal maintenance.  Surface finishes are made from blends of synthetic resins.  You’ve probably heard of urethanes or polyurethanes, this is what remains on the surface of the wood to form the protective layer.  Flooring finishes are available in various levels of gloss, at stewartfloor® we focus on lower gloss levels.

We offer two options at stewartfloor®.  Our first offering is the most common and in demand surface finish, a closed pore smooth finish.  Our version of this type of finish has less texture on the surface than other brands of flooring.  The aluminum oxide is in several layers of this built finish to insure the durability and increase the longevity of this finish.  Aluminum oxide helps increase the abrasion resistance of the floors finish.  Providing easy care and longterm value.

Atelier: Classically ModernOur second option is atelier.  The ideal blend of ease of use and naturalness.  Our atelier finish takes all the best elements of  our standard finish and combines this with the sensory experience of an oil finish.  Atelier is an open pore finish which allows the natural grain of the wood to truly be experienced.  This is the most natural appearing finish as the wood doesn’t appear to have any finish at all on it.  This represents the most natural expression of our exquisite species.  Because of the supermatte appearance, the finish absorbs the light rather than reflecting it like a higher gloss finish and assures the floor is the perfect canvas for your interior design.  The open pore effect appears to be slightly brushed.  The open pore finish will also show even less wear over time while providing the same low level of maintenance as our standard finish.  Atelier represents a passion for authenticity.
